“Cool Mornings of Eastern North Carolina”
January 2026
“In the early morning hours of Martin Luther King Jr Day we were up and on the road at 3:30 am chasing a unseen sunrise. The direction was west and a little north. The roads carried us to Jordan Lake, a lake I have never visited and I am so glad that we did. It has amazing views and wildlife. I hope you enjoy as we did!”

“Coastal Mornings — The Working Heart of Pamlico”
November 2025
Before most of the world wakes, the coast already hums with quiet purpose. From the trawlers resting in Oriental’s harbor to the first light spilling over Styrontown’s pier, these scenes capture the rhythm of life along the Pamlico Sound and the Neuse River steady, humble, and enduring. Each photograph tells a story of water and work, of resilience in the face of storms, and of the beauty found in stillness.
Through Coastal Mornings, Mill Creek Photography preserves the spirit of our coastal communities — where boats, roots, and sunlight all meet the same horizon.
“Oriental Harbor Before Dawn” Still waters and sleeping trawlers wait beneath a deep indigo sky in Oriental, North Carolina. The faint glow of working lights reflects across the harbor — a quiet moment before sunrise when the town’s heart still beats in rhythm with the tide. Captured by Mill Creek Photography, this image honors the maritime spirit and peaceful resilience of coastal life.
“Predawn Reflections — Oriental Harbor” The working boats of Oriental, North Carolina, rest in still water before the first light breaks the horizon. Their masts and rigging rise into the lavender sky, mirrored perfectly below. A moment of rest in the heart of North Carolina’s sailing capital, captured by Mill Creek Photography.
“After the Storm — Styron Town Beach” Along the quiet edge of the Pamlico Sound, the storm left its mark. At Styrontown Beach, roots once buried deep now stand exposed, weathered by wind and tide. Nearly ten inches of sand washed away, revealing nature’s persistence and power. Captured in the calm after the storm, this image reflects both the beauty and fragility of our Eastern Carolina shores.

“Pamlico Babe Ruth League — Pride of the Diamond”
October 2025
There’s something timeless about a small-town ball field — the sound of a bat connecting, the dirt under cleats, the faces full of determination and joy. These portraits from the Pamlico Babe Ruth League celebrate the next generation of players carrying forward our community’s spirit of teamwork, dedication, and love for the game.
Captured on home turf under wide Carolina skies, each image honors the families, coaches, and kids who make youth baseball more than a pastime — it’s a tradition.

It reflects the rhythm of life here — honest, hardworking, and full of character.
"Kermit's Barber Shop" This 1965 barber’s chair stands as a reminder of a time when stories were shared one haircut at a time. Worn metal, wood paneling, and the faint scent of history tell their own tale — of neighbors, laughter, and the steady hum of small-town life.
“1930 Ford — Pamlico Heritage Museum” Resting quietly under soft light, this 1930 Ford stands as a bridge between eras — a symbol of movement, craftsmanship, and the changing face of small-town life. The museum preserves it not just as a car, but as a story: of farmers heading to town, Sunday drives down dirt roads, and the steady hum of progress finding its way to Pamlico County.
“Reading Glasses and Scripture — Pamlico Heritage Museum” Resting atop a well-worn Bible, these reading glasses invite a quiet moment of reflection. The pages, softened by time, speak to a faith and patience that carried generations through hard seasons and good. Captured at the Pamlico Heritage Museum, this image honors the stillness of memory — when stories were read, remembered, and lived.
“The Blacksmith’s Work — Pamlico Heritage Museum” Each strike of the hammer carries echoes of the past — the rhythm of hard work and skill passed down through generations. This blacksmith’s anvil, worn smooth from years of use, stands as a testament to craftsmanship, patience, and the honest labor that helped build Pamlico’s story.
